Sugar Cane Cowl knit in Yarn Indulgences Indulgent DK weight yarn. My cozy cowl is knit with under one skein of Indulgent DK in Garnet. I am in love with this yarn! Enjoy!

Materials
175 meters / 190 yards Yarn Indulgences Indulgent DK in Garnet
3.50 mm / US 4 double pointed needles or circular needles (maximum 24”)
1 stitch marker

Gauge
24 stitches = 4 inches
(K5, P2, slightly stretched, unblocked)

Approximate Measurements
Before blocking:
18 inch circumference
5.5 inches tall
After blocking:
21 inch circumference
5.5 inches tall

Notes
If you prefer a larger cowl, cast on an extra 14 stitches. This will add approximately 2.50 inches in circumference after blocking.

Abbreviations
K = knit
P = purl
ST(S) = stitch(es)
SM = stitch marker

Instructions
With 3.50mm needles, cast on 112 stitches. Beginning working in the round (be careful not to twist stitches).

Set Up Round 1: Place SM to mark beginning of round. P1 ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Set Up Round 2: P1 ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1

Begin Pattern Repeat Rounds:
Pattern Round 1: P8, ((K5, P9) to last 6 stitches), K5, P1
Pattern Round 2: P8, ((K5, P9) to last 6 stitches), K5, P1
Pattern Round 3: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 4: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 5: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 6: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 7: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 8: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1
Pattern Round 9: P1, K5 ((P9, K5) to 8 stitches), P8
Pattern Round 10: P1, K5 ((P9, K5) to 8 stitches), P8
Pattern Round 11: P1, ((K5, P2) to last 6 STS), K5, P1

Repeat Pattern Rounds 1 – 16 twice more. Work Rounds 1 – 4 once more. Cast off in pattern.
